Austen Authors October 15, 2018: Darcy’s eavesdropping, and I’m giving books away!

Please note: The giveaway mentioned in this post has ended!

It’s that time again … I have completed another novel. 🙂 This one is called Darcy Overhears. It is 43,038 words and 216 printed pages of awesomeness, if I do say so myself. <3

~~~***~~~
This story began as a tiny “what if.” What if Darcy overheard something about Elizabeth? It wasn’t much to go on, and I wasted a lot of time trying to get ODC together slowly, which did not work. It’s just not my style. I ended up reworking the first few chapters, and once that happened, words flowed out my fingers like water over a dam. It was beautiful to watch, and to experience. <3
What I learned from that experience is that, even though my books tend to be “low-angst” and fluffy, that’s ok. Not everyone is going to read me. If a particular person prefers Darcy to be a jerk and Elizabeth to be an angry ball of fire for 399 pages, and if that person only wants to read three pages of them being together, then my books are not going to be to that person’s taste. However, I know for a fact that people like my books, and that my stories fill a need that people have. I know because they tell me. They tell me in emails, in Facebook and blog comments, and via their patronage at Patreon. And, filling the needs of readers fills a need in me, so it’s a win-win situation. <3
If you follow my blog, you know that I have posted the entire rough draft over the course of the last month or two. At first it was dribs and drabs, but then it became full chapters, and now at the end, it’s two chapters a week. 🙂 By the time this post goes live, it will also have been posted at DarcyandLizzy and will be available at a discount at my Gumroad store. Preorders on Amazon and anywhere else I can figure them out should be up by then, as well. This will be my first time doing a preorder, and I confess to a little trepidation, as always happens with something new, but I know it will all work out in the end.
I decided to only give you the blurb today, which I will share below. If you read beyond that, there are details about the giveaway. 🙂
His enemy, her reputation, their love
Fitzwilliam Darcy has fallen deeply in love with the most gorgeous, warm-hearted, and amusing woman he has ever met. When he overhears a former friend threaten her, he goes to the lady’s father, hoping they can form an alliance to safeguard her.
Elizabeth Bennet eagerly anticipates the quiet times of reflection and escape from chaos that her daily walks afford her. She never thought her most cherished freedom could become the source of her greatest fears. When she is endangered, who can she trust to protect her?
Darcy Overhears is a Pride and Prejudice novel variation by Zoe Burton. If you love your JAFF to have strong heroes, feisty heroines, and love stories forged amidst calamity in a Regency setting, this story is for you. Grab your copy today and lose yourself in Zoe’s world of sweet romance and happily ever after.
I am giving away two ebook copies of Darcy Overhears. The giveaway is open internationally, and the ebooks will be delivered via Bookfunnel. I have used them for my last several giveaways, but if you are not familiar with them, they are a wonderful bunch of people who have technology skills far above my own. They can get an ebook onto the device of the most technologically-unlearned person that exists. <3
Anyway, two ebooks being given away, internationally. To enter the drawing, simply leave a comment here on my Austen Authors blog post before 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Winners will be announced on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
