I did it. I finally finished Darcy’s Predicament. The third time was the charm, and I am so very excited to be able to tell you this.
I have done two other posts about this story. Each time, it was flowing well, but each time, the words suddenly stopped. I picked the story up again once I had Darcy’s Caution published, and at that point, the story came to me easily.
As I write this post, on Thanksgiving Day, I’m taking a break from editing Darcy’s Predicament. Editing is always very difficult for me, and this time is no different than any other. By the time you read this, I hope to have all the edits made and the formatting at least begun, if not completed. It should be published within a week of the formatting being finished.
To refresh your memory, Darcy’s Predicament began as a plot bunny from a reader. I don’t usually take up bunnies that other people share, but this reader very much wanted hers to be written, and I could not say no. The bunny was that Mrs. Bennet went into Meryton and overheard Wickham and the officers speaking badly about her girls, and Mr. Darcy finding her.
I first wrote that scene, and then wrote what came before and after. And, though Longbourn’s mistress was glad to know the truth, she was also embarrassed. That embarrassment led to her being angry with Darcy. So, even though he had ten thousand a year and Lizzy was in love with him, Mrs. Bennet did her best to keep them apart. That’s all I’ll say about the plot for now. I don’t want to give too much away. 🙂 As always, Darcy and Lizzy get their Happily Ever After. I can’t write anything else. 🙂
Darcy’s Predicament is on schedule to publish no later than twelve days from now, on December 21st. I plan to have both ebook and regular-size print versions go live as closely together as I can. The large print will come a few days later.
I mentioned a giveaway in the title, and I do have one again this month. This time, I’m giving away two ebook copies of Darcy’s Predicament.
