Welcome to (or back to) Austen Promises! Below are my news and updates for this week. Enjoy!
The sun is in my eyes! That’s a good problem to have! #HappyAlmostSpring <3
I had another reasonably productive week! I wrote 2,033 words last Saturday and 5,298 words this week (in the last three days). I confess I was too angry on Thursday to write as many words as I wanted. LOL
The story (the Patreon exclusive) is moving right along, and I realized this afternoon when I got home that I’m closer to done than I thought I was. Yay! <3
I have revised my Patreon page! For those who may not know what Patreon is, it’s a platform where fans of my work can sponsor me for $1 a month, $5 a month, or $10 a month (or more). In exchange, they get three or four stories posted exclusively for them each year, plus blog posts two days in advance, free backlist copies, and more.
Here are the changes/upgrades I made:
- I renamed my tiers and added icons (Lilac, Lavender, and Hydrangea);
- I cleaned up typos and duplicated items in my rewards tiers and removed “videos” from the highest tier;
- I revised my goals;
- I revised my welcome note;
- I introduced my Patrons (THE BEST Patrons in the world!) to the Community tab;
- I revised my header image so it fits properly; and
- I recorded and uploaded a new welcome video.
If you’ve not stopped by my Patreon page in a while, go check it out. I think you’ll like the improvements.
My next Austen Authors post will be the last Monday of this month (March 30th). I hope to have a post to introduce the Patreon-exclusive story to the world.
I’m having a St. Patrick’s Day sale at my Gumroad store! From now until midnight on March 17th, you can get 17% off any title of $1.99 or more. You need to use this code when you check out: stpats2020.
For those who have never visited that store before, I have a Writer’s Journal post that explains the site and how to use it. The former special ed teacher in me insisted I use pictures for the visual learners among you. 😀
In personal news, Jasper got a bath on Monday, then went to the vet and got a couple shots. He has to go back at the end of the month for a booster for the one shot. I have yet to contact the doggie day care lady but I plan to very soon, to get the ball rolling for him to go play a couple times a month.
I ordered a new cell phone cover at the beginning of the month. The one I’ve had since I got the new phone last October was an ugly blue-green Otterbox cover. The new cover came one day last week and it didn’t fit right. The buttons on the side for power and volume kept getting pressed down. I could not figure this out, so I cut away the plastic over those buttons. It didn’t really work and I was so confused. I went home and looked at Amazon and guess what? The cover I bought was not for my phone! I somehow was under the impression it was. 🙁 So, I had to spend the money on a new one, which I adore. It’s solid purple, not as bulky as the Otterbox one, and it fits perfectly! Of course, since I cut the other one up, I can’t get a refund on it. 🙁
Have you ever done something like that? Ordered the wrong thing and then messed it up and could not send it back? Feel free to leave me a comment and tell me about it. I love to hear from my readers! <3
