Welcome to (or back to) Austen Promises! Below are my news and updates for this week. Enjoy!

After a couple cooler days, it’s gotten hot again. I’m grateful for window air conditioners!
I don’t have much writing news to report. I’ve not gotten many actual words on a page this past week. I’m hoping next week will be better.

A MUCH Later Meeting is live! I’ll be sending a link in next weekend’s newsletter that will give you a free copy, so be on the lookout for it. If you absolutely can’t wait for the freebie, click here to go to the book’s sales page on my website. I like to use Books2Read links sometimes, because it’s one less step for you, but the site would not cooperate this afternoon.

My Austen Authors post is this coming Monday, July 20th. I’ll be talking about the differences between A MUCH Later Meeting and the usual JAFF variation, and I’ll be giving away two eBook copies of the story. I have volunteered to do a second post this month, which will be on July 31st. I’m uncertain what I’m going to write about (though I certainly have definite opinions on what I’d like to discuss.)

Part of being a full-time author is looking for new readers and part of that is using advertising. You may have seen my ads from time to time on Amazon. I’ve never been very bold with them, nor have I done a very good job with them, despite the expensive class I took. So, when I saw that there was a new Ads Challenge this month, I signed up. I tried it in January, but was in no fit state of mind to play with things at that point. This month, I have money set aside specifically for playing … and can’t get Amazon to spend it. LOL Anyway, I’m learning new things and that always brings me joy. I hope the lessons get my books in front of new readers.
In personal news, this has been a long and trying week. I did my taxes on Monday, and that took nearly eight hours. I forgot to get all my info together ahead of time and had to search for things and go back and forth through the software and forms to fill things in. I was exhausted.
Then, I realized that all the training I did with Jasper over the winter has gone out the window. We had a terrible week, with me being upset and him being incredibly anxious. I could not buy the thunder shirt for him this month, but it’s at the top of the “must have” list for August.
The challenge I mentioned above turned out to be far more work than I expected, and it’s put me way behind. In everything.
There have been other problems, as well, that I can’t really talk about. I was feeling rather high strung for a while and like I was about to fall off a high wire. I’ve worked hard this week to get my God time in, and that has helped.
