News and Updates: Saturday, January 16, 2021

Welcome to (or back to) Austen Promises! Below are my news and updates for this week. Enjoy!

How are you doing? The days are getting longer (not a lot longer, I grant you, but noticeably so) and I am excited! Are you?

In writing news, I have written 5,940 words since Tuesday on Darcy’s Unwanted Bride. Today I had errands, so I’ll be doing blog posts instead of writing, but I’ll be back at it tomorrow! I’m excited to have reached 20,000 words in this story. I’ve almost doubled what I had when I abandoned it last year. Go me! LOL

I hope to finish this book before the end of the month. If I keep having the successful days I’ve had this week, I know I can do it. I hope to publish it in March. My Patreon patrons will receive a reward copy as soon as I get it formatted, and I’ll share it at darcyandlizzy.com, as well. As always, there will be free copies given away to my mailing list and to members of my Burton’s Babes group.

This year, I will be promoting one book or book bundle each month. The price will drop on most, if not all, during the month they are promoted. After that, they will go back up to pre-pandemic pricing. Don’t worry that I’ll raise all the prices at once. I have twenty-six or twenty-seven single titles alone. At one per month, it’s going to take me a couple years to get through them all.

The first book I plan to promote is Mr. Darcy, My Hero! The price is going to drop to $2.99 for the rest of January, and will appear in two or three promotions. The book’s price will be dropped for the entire month. The promo spots are as follows:

I have noticed a departure from Facebook by many and an influx of new people into MeWe. I had stopped promoting that platform for a while, because the few that came over made an account and never showed up again. However, if more of you are visiting there, I have more reason to share things and try to interact. If enough people moved from Facebook to MeWe, I’d open a Burton’s Babes group there, too, but I don’t want to get the cart before the horse. LOL Just know that, if you do decide to check MeWe out, you can request to be my friend by clicking this link. MeWe does have a paid option, but you can join and get a rich experience for free (which is what I do.) It’s a much nicer platform than Facebook, in my opinion. Not because it’s fancy like FB but because there’s no advertising and it doesn’t feel like you’re being bombarded with things you don’t want.

In personal news, twice this week I double-booked myself, which is amazing considering I only go out to drive up/through places and the post office. On Wednesday, I have my small group church thing at six in the evening. I signed up for a webinar for that day, not realizing it was set for … you guessed it … six in the evening! Then, I made a grocery order on Tuesday that I could not pick up until Friday (today). I scheduled the pickup time for noon. Two days later, I realized that I had a Zoom group coaching call at that time on that day. So, there I was, in my truck, sitting at Walmart, on Zoom in this coaching call. I stayed in the meeting all the way through … the 30-minute drive home, the trip through McDonald’s, unloading the groceries, and eating my lunch. I don’t know if anyone had their screen set to see everyone, but if they did, I’m sure I was highly entertaining. LOL
