Proofreading

You’ve torn apart your manuscript from front to back and read through it until you can’t see straight, all to make it the best it can be. Now, it’s time for a professional to buff and polish it up.

I will proofread your book.

Genres:

Anything clean, clean and wholesome, or Christian, fiction or nonfiction.

  • Romance (historical or contemporary)
  • Cozy mystery
  • Fantasy
  • Nonfiction

This is not a developmental edit. This proofread will look at:

  • Style
  • Grammar
  • Word usage errors/repetition
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Flow
  • Inconsistencies

I work with Word documents, with Track Changes turned on.

  • In-line changes that you can review and accept or reject
  • Comment bubbles as appropriate

I will make two passes on the manuscript, to double-check my work and ensure I catch as many errors as possible. I encourage you to review each change I make and approve or reject them as you see fit.

Rates:
  • $.005/word

Authors/Testimonials:

Time. Is there any more precious commodity? Perhaps, but often, no. Beyond a quality proofread or beta read that I can trust to be completed with great attention to detail and on schedule, time freed up to work on other projects is what Zoe Burton’s Author Services have provided for me, whether I’m writing as Leenie or Annilee. I would definitely recommend her services.

Leenie Brown and Annilee Nelson

I use Zoe for my proofreading because she’s so thorough and if she doesn’t know a rule, but I’m using a convention, she’ll look it up. I appreciate the extra effort she puts in. I’ve also used her services to do research work and content editing for historical romance and mystery, and I’ve found her product to be consistently thorough and excellent. Highly recommend.
